Understanding Pure Water Window Cleaning

What is pure water window cleaning?

Cleaning professionals combine purified water with the use of high-reach water fed poles and brushes to effectively and efficiently clean windows, solar panels and other exterior surfaces. As opposed to traditional window cleaning methods using mop, squeegee, bucket and ladder, the water fed pole method is safer and quicker once the operator learns how to do it.

Let's compare traditional and water fed cleaning

Traditional window cleaning was how it all started. Armed with a bucket of water, ladder and squeegee traditional window cleaners wipe on and squeegee off windows using regular tap water. Unfortunately, tap water contains impurities, some caused by the chemicals applied to it to make the water safe for drinking. If left "unsqueegeed" then the impurities are left behind on the glass leaving spots and streaks.

Pure water window cleaning uses water filtration (single or multi-stage) to remove these impurities from the water. Pure water filtration systems use various methods of purification including reverse osmosis and deionization (or a combination of the two).

Reverse osmosis uses pressure to force water across a membrane (with little holes in it) leaving the impurities behind and purified water on the other side of it. Deionization removes positive metallic ions like calcium and magnesium and replaces them with hydrogen and hydroxyl. By combining these two processes you remove 99% of all impurities thus creating pure water.

Water Fed Poles

These extension poles, typically made from fiber glass, carbon fiber (or aluminum) pump up purified water through the pole and upto heights where a brush system is used to scrub the glass and simultaneously rinse the dirt away. Windows are left to dry naturally leaving no spots or streaks behind.

Benefits

Pure water cleaning systems combine pure water filtration with the use of telescopic water fed poles to clean windows at height, safely from the ground.

The method is clean and efficient and much safer than using ladders and scaffolding. There are huge cost savings by simplifying the process, eliminating the need for costly lifts and keeping workers out of harms way.

Pure water is also environmentally friendly as it does not use chemical cleaners that can potentially be harmful to the environment.
